YOU CAN ADD ALL THE INDUCTION,EXHAUST, AND CAMSHAFT MODIFICATIONS YOU LIKE, BUT IF THE CYLINDER HEAD DOES NOT FLOW ENOUGH AIR TO MATCH THESE ADD ONS, YOUR ENGINE WILL SIMPLY NOT PERFORM. TO ELIMINATE THIS LIMITING FACTOR, YOU NEED TO IMPROVE THE FLOW EFFICIENCY OF THE CYLINDER HEAD.
AFTER TESTING ALMOST EVERY PORTED HEAD ON THE MARKET, WE CONTRACTED WITH ONE OF THE WORLDS PREMIER ENGINEERING FIRMS TO DEVELOP WHAT WE FEEL IS THE BEST 2.5 MZR/DURATEC ON THE PLANET. OUR HEAD PORTER HAVE 50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE CYLINDER HEAD WORK. THEY HAVE BUILD HEADS FOR EVERYTHING FROM INDY CARS TO NASCAR, AND HAVE A STELLAR REPUTATION FOR MAKING POWER WHERE OTHERS HAVE FAILED.
STARTING WITH A BRAND NEW, VIRGIN CYLINDER HEAD CASTING, THEY BEGIN THE PROCESS BY MEASURING THE CRITICAL DIMENSIONS, SUCH AS CASTING HEIGHT, CAMSHAFT BORE STRAIGHTNESS, AND CASTING INTEGRITY. NEW VALVE GUIDES ARE THEN INSTALLED, AND SEATS ROUGH CUT FOR THE VALVE SIZE OR YOUR CHOICE. THE HEAD IS THEN CNC PORTED, AND FINISHED BY HAND TO INSURE THE BEST, MOST ACCURATE PORT TO PORT FLOW. ONCE FINISHED, THE VALVES ARE HAND LAPPED. IF IF ORDERED WITH OUR CAMS, THE NEW VALVE TAPPETS ARE INSTALLED, AND LASH IS ADJUSTED. ONCE COMPLETE, EACH HEAD IS FLOWED ON A SUPERFLOW FLOW BENCH TO INSURE ACCURATE RESULTS.
